These images where all taken at about midnight on Christmas day 2004. It had tried to snow in the morning, but nothing came of it, so I was very supprised when I heard an excited shriek from Julie as she looked out the front door and saw snow!
So what could we do? We went for a walk down to the river, to be the first people to leave footprints! When we came back we found that someone on their bike had had a merry drive around the close, all over people’s lawns (there are no fences here). It rather spoilt the peaceful unspoilt softness that is new laid snow, but I can empathise with their excitement and desire to make tracks!
These photos are all exposures of up to five minutes for the longest. It was really quite beautiful, the moon was almost full, the skies where clear, and their was a thick mist from the river drifting across the fields.
I should have taken more pictures.
