Sticky fingers, and bloody nails

This weekend saw the first in a new series of birthday workshops, using the Three little pigs as the basis.

The idea is too make a pig out of various sized yogurt pots and a peg. All well and good.

The other idea was to make it “gunk free” so that glue drying times could be omitted from the schedule, thus meaning we could pack more in. So I had the marvellous idea of sticking everything together with double sided sticky tape.

This does work well, and is a good idea, however, it takes a long time to cut up lots of little bits of sticky tape. So after the first workshop (where, incidently, I forgot the pegs after sending Julie out specially to buy them), we decided to pre-tape all the yogurt pots, and cut out the pigs bodies.

After the second workshop, we now think that assembling the mouth mechanisms is going to be a good idea as well.

All that taping, and trying to peel off the top layers of double sided tape, has left me with sore fingers, especially when you get stabbed under the nail with sharp corners!!
